Restaurants. They exist to make people yummy food. Yummy food that requires no preparation and no clean up. Food that is brought to you, handed over, and refills of drinks to boot. I love eating out.
Or even take out. You call- they make it fresh- you pick it up- get home and BAM! Food done. Cleanup is just throwing the container away (or recycling it). Easy peasy. Yummy. No effort.
I must admit that the past couple of months the restaurant and take-out monster has completely overpowered me. Like a weak, helpless little lamb, I continued to eat out for dinner three, four, five times a week. Not good for my diet or good for my wallet. Even though the food I was getting was still technically (on paper), low carb, it still wasn't me preparing the food. I don't know what went into it. Maybe there IS sugar in that home-made ranch dressing from the diner. Bad Emmie.
I'm happy to report that as of tomorrow, I have made it through an entire week without eating out. Well, except for a huge salad I got for me and my friends who came over the other night, but that's because one is a vegetarian and my regridgerator-of-meat doesn't bode well for her. My goal is to make it through tomorrow (bunless burgers and green beans), Saturday (chicken with mushrooms) and Sunday (brats and broccoli) without eating dinner out. I bought the food. I planned ahead. I can do it.
How do you plan ahead for your meals? I'd love to learn others tips and tricks!
