I know I'm probably in the minority (except for fashion bloggers), but I take photos in nearly every outfit I wear. Not fancy photos, but sometimes just a quick shot in front of the self-timer. It's given me a much better understanding about how certain things fit me proportionally, and in the end, it's given me a lot more confidence and body-awareness.
I've learned never to judge an item on the hanger (or in the world of plus size, in the shipping box), but it doesn't stop me. I pulled this IGIGI Nicolette Peplum Dress out of one of my Gwynnie Bee boxes (learn more about Gwynnie Bee here), and I was disappointed. In person, it just didn't do anything. Then I remembered my rule to try everything on. I put it on and it fit well, and felt nice. It wasn't until I snapped a photo that I really felt the power of the dress (I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true).
I felt fancy, but not overdressed, and in turn, the confidence came. The dress was a winner! (This is my “my ankle hurts, gimme back my tennis shoes” face)

Apparently I'm not the only one who liked the style of this dress, because IGIGI has just come out with a couple other fun color variations on it.
