Girl on Fire

I have been craving color in my wardrobe lately, probably since the weather has been so drab. Plus, the black and white monochrome trend feels like its been around forever!

Enter is dress from IGIGI, which is my version of the “girl on fire” dress (holla “Hunger Games” fans.)

This dress is one that just simply makes you feel happy and pretty. Doesn’t every woman need one of those?! I’m so thankful to IGIGI as they are providing 5 beautiful dresses to a local fashion show called “Step Into Beautiful” put on by Step by Step Lexington. Step by Step is an organization where young single mothers ages 14 to 24 find the encouragement they need to accomplish their dreams. I can’t wait to see the mothers, graduates of the program, in their IGIGI dresses! If you’re in Lexington, I’d love if you came out to join me at the show! Tickets are available here.

Hi Emmie – I found your blog about 10 days ago and am smitten – you are totes adorbs! You can definitely rock a look, including this dress. You look so good, I was thinking the look deserves a hotter shoe. Have you ever tried a wedge, to support your bum ankle? A peeptoe wedge (maybe nude?) would only add to this awesome look. Either way, you look fantastic. So much so, I almost don’t believe your claimed weight number – you look 100 lbs lighter than that to me. 😉

    • Emily Sandford

      Hi Wendy! Thanks for reading!
Unfortunately the swelling in my surgery foot has sized me out of my wedges right now, including some nude ones that I agree would look great. I can’t justify new shoes just to wear them for 10 minutes for photos, you know? Hopefully the swelling will go down over time and I can look for new shoes then :)

      • Wendy G

That ankle sounds so frustrating. I hope it heals and improves not just for shoes (silly priority, but can be a fun one) but more importantly for your whole quality of life.

  • Shauna

OHHHH MAH LORDY! you look gorgeous Emmie! And i want to get my British mitts on that dress :)
