Transparent Tuesday

Hello and welcome to another edition of #TransparentTuesday! (Imagine I just read that sentence to you in some crazy announcer voice.) During #TransparentTuesday,  we remove the rosy filters of social media and share real life. Share your posts in the comments below for all to see. Or, share on social media and tag #TransparentTuesday.

First off, if you haven’t read my post about fitness and weight in the media and celebrating things from your past, I’d love if you checked it out. It’s one of those posts I put a lot into emotionally and was extra-transparent!

Onward. Today, I was faced with this:

Talk about a buzz kill from last weeks sunshine and warm weather! I got up to go to the gym and traffic was so slow in this snow dusting that I got there about 8 minutes late (I go to group training). When I was pulling up to the gym, I thought “I don’t want to go in late. I’ll just skip it today and go to the grocery store instead.” Thankfully I came to my senses and just went in late. I hate being late though!

Afterwards, I went to the grocery like this, which always means I’ll run into someone I know. Bullet dodged today as I got in and out with no ghosts from my past!

gym faceAlso, the tiny zit between my eyebrows has now turned into a raging red monster in a matter of hours. And of course I just tried to pick at it (I’m a picker) and it looks even worse.

After my good workout this morning, I was able to easily resist the nacho car at book club and didn’t feel deprived. My whole “I eat what I want” philosophy is still holding strong. Huzzah.

That’s all the transparency I’ve got for today. Anything you want to share?

Oh god I feel you on the zit. I KNOW what happens. I KNOW. But I can’t leave them alone and it always ends badly. I will say that hot compresses help (I usually run really hot water over one of those cotton pads and then refresh as needed). I also tend to get the between the eyes one and usually a matching chin or end of nose one….

I think you look pretty with or without makeup.

I love Transparent Tuesday! Sometimes I just want to see what life is actually like for bloggers since some of them not only put the rosy colored glasses on, but probably four instagram filters on top of it, ha!

Also, snow needs to stop. Go home snow, it’s spring!!

It is practically *GUARANTEED* that when I go to the gro sto sans make-up…I will run in to somebody. LOL!
And that ” I eat what I want” mentality? I am learning to rock that! I wrote about it on my blog today, in fact. We’ve got to stop the insanity with torturing ourselves with food crime and punishment. When I remove the “good” and “bad” labels, it instantly frees me. And I am finding that the freedom changes what I WANT. Pretty awesome.
