Sweater Skirt in the Summer

My style is pretty consistent. I like florals, wrap dresses, and maxis. I felt completely out of my comfort zone when I got this ASOS Curve (their plus size brand) Knit Skirt from a Gwynnie Bee shipment. First, it’s knit and fitted. Around the body part I get most squirmy about, my hips. Second, it’s short. Above the knee by a bit. I’m not used to wearing skirts this short, and when I was getting out of my car, I legit think I flashed one of the attorneys walking to the nearby courthouse. Just call me Grace. Third, it’s print. On my bottom. These are all personal hangups of mine, and I figured it was time to just get over it.

Here’s the thing about going out of your comfort zone: it can sometimes be liberating. As soon as I saw the photos, this became one of my favorite recent outfits. It’s easy comfortable, and even though it’s a little different from what I normally wear, it’s a different sort of confidence. Maybe I need to push myself more often!

So pretty!! I’m a size 20 & always tell myself I’ll wait to buy clothes after I lose weight. Consequently, I got nothin’ to wear! I think I should buy skirts but am not ready for a mini. What are best places for pretty maxi skirts? Thanks!

I’m a 20/22 and I have been wearing maxi dresses like they’re going out of style. Gwynnie Bee has been a great resource. I got a great dress from Simply Be and Karen Kane makes some great dresses.

Well – have to say your 3 ‘out of your comfort’ zones would be the same as mine. Fitted, short, patterned. But! Looks awesome. Looks amazing. Right on.
