I know, I know… the N'Sync/Justin Timberlake references N'Sync/Justin Timberlake references at the beginning of May are a little out of control, but I couldn't help it since I'm still in shock that it's already May.
Excited: About getting closer to selling the house. It's been a lot of work and disruption in my schedule to have contractors in and out of my home, and more importantly, my office. I can still get work done, it's just an extra layer of stress to have banging or people knocking on your office door for something when you're normally working in isolation. I've had a couple of Skype calls interrupted. I live alone and having a bunch of people (even very friendly people) doing things in my home is anxiety-inducing. I'm ready for things to quiet down. Good news is everything looks really great and I *think* I'm in the home stretch.
Drinking: Back to my coffee kick after my tea streak. black eye from Starbucks, all the way. A black eye is coffee with 2 shots of espresso in it. Or if it's too hot out, I'll get an iced 1/2 passion tea and 1/2 green tea with 1 Splenda.
Eating: Greek food. I'm obsessed with Athenian Grill. Their horiatiki salad with a side of classic (lamb & beef) gyro meat and tzatziki for dressing instead of their sweet vinaigrette (I'm off the sugar right now) is a great gluten free, protein heavy lunch.
Listening: My “Work Jams” playlist on Spotify. Mainly beat driven mid tempo songs with smooth vocals – not sure how else to describe it. Started with Chet Faker (who now goes by his real name, Nick Murphy) and Flume, and fueled by my friend Deanna who is equally as obsessed when we find a new song that's similar to these!
Limiting: Buying extra things. I've been on a major purge of things as I try to get this house ready to sell. I've lived here a LONG time and it's a major chore to really go through things to be selective of what I'd actually take to a new house. I've also had to spend a lot of money to fix things: new exterior paint, 2 new air conditioning units, 1 new furnace, water heater repair, interior paint, a new toilet, new light fixtures, new faucets, etc. Basically, I could have had a nice car with the amount that's gone into this. Sorry $842 Nordstrom cart, you're my virtual shopping escape, but I can't hit the trigger anytime soon! On that note, I'm…
Selling: Clothes! Still hacking away at my closet and listing items on Poshmark. If there's something I've worn in the past that you want, check there or let me know and I'll tell you if it's available. And obviously, I'm hopefully selling my house soon. Fingers crossed I get it listed in the next few weeks. Waiting on interior paint and handyman to finish.
Wearing: Plenty by Tracy Reese for Gwynnie Bee. Obsessed with these looks, coming soon to the blog. I am currently wearing the black skirt for the 3rd time in a 7 days. Also wearing my favorite Munro shoes nearly everywhere because they're the only non-sneakers that aren't aggravating my achilles tendinitis.
Planning: A trip to NYC in the next few weeks – timing TBD. Hopefully the house will be on the market by then and I won't still be juggling contractors or staging things.
