When I think of my mom, I can remember the signature perfume that she wore (Quelque Fleur). I've never found a perfume that I liked more than a couple of weeks, so I decided to do something about it!
I ventured to this cute fragrance boutique in downtown Lexington, The Crushed Violet. Owner Erin (who I interviewed for HerKentucky) worked with me to find some great scents.
I was easily able to articulate what I DIDN'T like, but was hard to explain what I DID like. Erin narrowed it down based on my dislikes, and I came away with 3 that I couldn't decide between.
Leila Lu: Pear Blossom, fresh cut grass and tangerine, jasmine, vanilla and cotton musk
ElizabethW Sweet Tea: An enticing marriage of oriental black teas, juicy fresh Amalfi lemons, and the sweetness of almond honey.
i Profumi di Firenze Brezza di Mare: Sea Salt and Bergamot from the Calabrian coast, fresh picked lemons and limes from the seaside cliffs of Sicily, watermelon
When I got home, I put on some of the Brezza di Mare to see if I could go all day liking a scent. I haven't stopped smelling myself! Love it so far. Will try the others in the next week, and can hopefully narrow it down so I can go back to get a full bottle and start having a signature scent!
