Yesterday, I was brutally honest and posted confessions of my junk food intake the past couple of weeks. I'm so glad people are responding to it and not throwing butter balls and ho-ho's at me.
I mentioned that I went to Atlanta for work. When I was there, I saw a billboard for hair weaves. That got me thinking about extensions. I've always had short hair. The longest its ever been was for my wedding, and as soon as I got back from the honeymoon, I cut that shit off. If you've ever tried to grow your hair out, you know that when it gets to your shoulders, it feels like a mullet. That's the point I was at when I had my longest hair:
So I did some Googling and Tweeting and found Sunny's Hair, which was in Buckhead, where I was staying. I decided to run over there and see what they had. I ended up buying hair.
When they put it on me, I felt like a stranger in my own body. Even when I was younger, my hair was always in a bob or pageboy haircut. So this long hair was completely foreign to me. Should I feel sexier? Nah, no sexy here- fat only. Should I feel richer? I had no idea but it felt weird. I hadn't done anything that drastic to change my appearance before, other than losing weight.
Here's the end result. I think I confused some people at work when I came in with super long hair after having short hair the whole week before. They're clip ins. I think I'm going to try to grow my hair out.
Anyone else have experience with hair extensions? Ooh, or wigs- they had the most gorgeous wigs, but in addition to being very expensive,I also feared they would make me feel too much like Kim (aka Miss Tardy for the Party) from Real Housewives of Atlanta.
