I will admit that I resisted fancy-dancy makeup brushes for a really long time. I would always use little wedge sponges or the applicators that came with the products. In recent years, I've accumulated various brushes from MAC and e.l.f. Blush, powder, kabuki, various eyeshadow and eyebrow brushes, etc. I've tried foundation brushes before, but never found the application to be super controllable because of the longer bristles. I always felt like I had too much product on my face afterwards, and not just in the problem areas I was trying to focus on.
Enter this magical Shiseido Foundation Brush:
I've used this brush the past 3 weeks or so with my MAC Select SFP 15 foundation and am a complete addict. All of my wedge sponges are in the trash, and this is the only thing I'll apply foundation with now. The bristles are short and tightly compacted, but not stiff as you would expect. You can stipple over your problem areas (I'm breaking out like crazy this week) and then just lightly brush over other parts of the face. For such little foundation, there is a lot of coverage – even for a medium-coverage foundation. Another plus? It has a short handle, so it fits in your travel makeup bag if needed.
