I'm loving this new chambray tunic that I got from Lands End. I went to order a pair of chinos, and ended up ordering this tunic along with a triple-wrap belt and a knit button down shirt. Tunics are tricky because I have a long torso and they never seem to be long enough. Also, if they're not stretchy, they usually don't fit my hips. This tunic does both though. I paired it with a simple pair of Old Navy leggings and a pair of boots to run to Starbucks.
I have been contemplating between 2 pair of new boots, both to replace my black knee high boots that have a slight heel and a pointy toe. I still like those for dressy occasions, but for everyday comfort, a pair of riding boots is more practical. I love my brown riding boots (here from Zappos), so thought black ones would be perfect. I didn't want to get the exact same pair in black though. First they are a little more than I wanted to spend ($199) and second, I like variety!
Pair 1 are rsvp Rider extra wide calf boots from Zappos, $99.
Pair 2 are from SimplyBe. Legroom Extra Curvy Calf boots, $124. I waited several weeks for these to come as they were backordered. I loved the equestrian feel of them, and the dual tone.
I have so much stuff I want to write about wide calf boots, but for the meantime, check out my Pinterest board with tons of options and approximate calf circumference measurements.
Anyway, both boots fit my 20″ calves (they fluctuate between 18-21″ depending on fluid retention):
Chambray Tunic, Lands End (I'm wearing 3X), $74
Leggings, Old Navy (I'm wearing 3X), $10.94
I noticed in the photos that the 2-tone boots bring emphasis to the widest part of my calf, which isn't necessarily the best thing. The black boots look a little sloppy in the photo, but I think they look much better in person. I think I'm going to go for those.
Hope you're having a great weekend!
