We just got another 17″ of snow here in Kentucky, which is unprecedented. The city basically shuts down to clear out, and it's the second time in a month we've had near this amount. Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to shovel my driveway this winter. This isn't even the entire driveway – there is about 1/4 more to my left where my garage is. Blech. Talk about really making me want to move somewhere warm.
Anyway, I wanted to share a fun outfit with you that I shot right before one of the first rounds of snow we had. It was so freaking windy and cold, thus zero posing and lots of shivering. I love the look of mixed prints, but don't seem to own many prints to begin with. When I got this dress from my Gwynnie Bee subscription, I knew exactly what I wanted to pair it with. BTW, Gwynnie Bee has a free trial month offer going on now – details below.)
Coldwater Creek Dress c/o Gwynnie Bee
Talbots trench, old (this is a fun print / here's a Talbots polka dot coat)
Alesya bag
Lane Bryant flats
I put this dress in my Gwynnie Bee closet eons ago and forgot about it. With GB, you add items to your virtual closet, and they send you items they have available from that closet at the time of shipping. My closet has about 80 items at any given moment, so it's easy to forget what goodies you've chosen (though it's super easy to view, put things on hold, and remove whenever you want). You get a package from them, wear the clothes, throw them back in the mail in the pre-paid bag, they wash them, and send you more things from your closet!
Just a handful of items currently in my Gwynnie Bee closet
I think finding prints of similar colors is a good foray into mixing. These 2 navy pieces went perfectly in color scheme, and the classic patterns on each (nothing wild and crazy) meant it was a perfect pattern mixing situation.
If you've never tried GB before, I'd encourage checking out their month free trial offer right now. You can get a feel for the service, and if you don't like it, just send the clothes back and cancel. Whether you love it or leave it, free clothes for a month isn't a bad deal! If you want more details on how GB works, and to see more of my outfits from them, you can view my gallery of photos here. I've been a member for nearly 3 years now, and have nearly 200 outfit photos in GB! I only photograph about 1/4 of what I get from them as I usually wear once and return, but that's A LOT of outfits!
