Taking a break from my 80% dress wardrobe today with a three-piece look that is technically casual (denim!) but makes me feel really polished. Trouser jeans combined with a tunic-length top and fun cropped jacket. Adding a third piece to a shirt and pants is a great way to feel just a little extra sassy.

I will say that cropped jackets previously made me feel a little bit like “fat girl in a little coat,” but I always love how they look so I got over that quickly! Plus, this one is a nice stretch ponte material that isn't restrictive or too heavy.
Also getting quite a patriotic vibe from this look since the stripes are navy and white, which is hard to tell in the photos.
The bag is always a stopper on the street – people do a double take. This bag has been retired from Kate Spade for a long time, but if you are looking for a fun statement bag, ModCloth has some great ones. Evidence: this purse that looks like a phone AND has a receiver that works – you plug it into your cell! If you're REALLY wanting the bag I have, you can check the listings on eBay as they pop up from time-to-time.
Sun's out, guns out! Don't be afraid to go sleeveless!
