I wear a lot of Kiyonna. Their clothes never fail to make me feel amazing, and they last FOREVER. I’m still wearing Kiyonna items from 4 years ago if that tells you anything! They’re celebrating their !!!20th anniversary!!! and have 25% off nearly everything through 8/31. See the coupon at the end of the post!
Even with all my Kiyonna adoration, I do tend to stick to the wrap dress silhouette. I’ve never been that comfortable in bodycon styles because I’m not an hourglass shape or whatever fashion mags tell me I’m supposed to be to wear that silhouette.
Recently, Kiyonna came out with this dress. It’s different than anything I’ve seen them do before, and I decided to give it a whirl:
I put it on and didn’t know what to think. I don’t usually see my body outlined like this, and I for sure don’t ever wear this much ruching!
I liked the neckline, the material was super soft, and like everything Kiyonna does – fit well. I’ve worked hard over the years to stop stressing out about my belly, because it’s been a source of really stupid shame since I was 12. I’m tired of worrying about it. I’d rather focus my energy on positive things. So embrace the visible belly outline (VBO!) The only thing that bothered me a little was the hem of the dress. Depending on how I walked, one side could get longer than another. This is me being nit-picky. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the photos though. I think I look good! I should break out of my fashion comfort zone more often…
