To say I was *pumped* when I heard about the Draper James for ELOQUII collab a couple of months ago is an understatement. The styles are colorful, feminine, and sweetly Southern – and for the longest time, only came in sizes 0-16. Working with plus size brand ELOQUII means Draper James styles were now available to the plus community. This is a big deal! Size inclusivity is something we've wanted forever, and slowly but surely, some brands are taking notice. The cache of it being a Reese Witherspoon brand is equally as exciting, because this raises the profile of plus options for brands.
This was the first item from the collection that I added to my cart:
Draper James for ELOQUII Hibiscus Fit and Flare Dress
Elaine Turner clutch (super old, similar)
Catherine's shoes
Prep Obsessed bracelet (less than $10)
I'm always a sucker for a fit and flare dress with a v-neck, AND it's hibiscus print. Plus, the pale pink color isn't something I wear often (or ever). I was pleasantly surprised when I got it – there is no stretch in the fabric, but it fit very well in the waist, which is often a problem for me. The fabric is thick, which means it lays nicely even with the volume in the skirt with the pleating detail.
So far, there have been 2 batches of releases in the collection. I hope there are many more! And ultimate hope is that Draper James will have these styles in store one day. I always like going to the Draper James in Lexington, but it's pretty boring to hang out while my friends are in the dressing room.
