With these ridiculously hot summer days, I've found myself reaching for things that can deliver comfort first and foremost! But I also want to feel like I look great no matter what the occasion. If I'm going to be a hot, sweaty mess, at least my outfit will look good.
This little black dress seems at first glance that it's basic, but there are some things that really set it apart from other black dresses in my closet (and there are several!)

The reasons I keep going back to this dress week after week (these photos were taken in early June)
- Fabric. The outside fabric is a jersey knit that is really soft. There is lining that is a stretch poly that really helps the outside fabric lay just right. No lumps or bumps showing through, even though it's more bodycon than I normally wear
- Cut. Sleeveless, but with straps wide enough to wear a regular bra. And long enough where I don't feel like I have to do a booty check every few minutes
- Ruching. As you can see in the photo below, there is a ruching detail on the side of the dress. This really is what gives it great shape. Hugs curves, but it's due to the cut, and not fabric just being too tight in certain areas.
This dress is also available in olive green and white. Sizing does seem to run small, based on my assessment and the reviews on the ELOQUII site. I'm wearing the 26/28.
ELOQUII has killed it recently with favorite staple dresses. They are also responsible for this favorite:
