Coming at you today with a quick outfit of the day by way of mirror selfies.
A couple of days ago, I shared a tweet and Instagram story in frustration.
There is very little availability of plus size clothes above a size 24, so I spend a lot of time and money buying styles in sizes anywhere close to mine to try to find items that 1) fit my personal style; 2) fit my body. Last week, I tried on 3 items in a row that didn't fit and I was so frustrated because I don't have the option to size up.
Even though I know that clothing size shouldn't affect my mood, it's inevitable at times. I mean, look how cute this colorful shirtdress is!

Frustration aside, necessity can be the mother of invention. A day after being frustrated, I was having one of those “I have nothing to wear” moments. I started with some of my favorite plus size basics: leggings and a tee.
Then, I detached the camisole slip from the dress (it has snap attachments) and unbuttoned it to try it as a topper:
Leggings
Tunic tee
Earrings
Shoes, no longer available. These are similar teal flats
It was super cute, if I do say so myself! I was still able to enjoy the colorful pattern I wanted, but in a way that was comfortable. While I would have preferred for the dress to fit in the first place, it was a workable alternative.
Fit note for the dress: It's available in standard, petite, and plus sizes. I ordered the size 26W as I normally do in Anthropologie, but it was at least 1 size too small. The Anthropologie range stops at a 26W. See more of my favorite Anthropologie plus size outfit posts here.
