TL;DR: Universal Standard is having a Spin for Styles sale where the more you buy from the spinner (think Clueless), the more you save. This means up to 30% off your purchase, PLUS, I have an additional coupon you can stack on top of that – use AUTHEMMIE10 for an additional 10% off your order.
If you've been to my site before, you probably know that I love Universal Standard. With sizes 00-40 in luxe and high quality styles, they are a go-to of mine for so many styles. They don't have sales frequently, so this one is newsworthy. Starting today through April 30th, they're having a Spin for Styles sale. Using their “style generator” (think Clueless!) you can spin and save. The more items you choose to keep on the spinner, the more you can save. One item is 10% off, two items are 20% off, and three items are 30% off. PLUS I have a coupon for an additional 10% off. These aren't leftover styles – they're some of the most popular items on their site. To see all the styles, you can spin for yourself. But in the meantime, I'll share some of them here.
Universal Standard Fit Notes
Universal Standard has the most inclusive sizing of any brand, with sizes 00-40. Their sizing labels are different than many others, so make sure to check the size chart. The chart itself is very accurate as to the size US items you'll need. I am 5'10, wear a 28W in most brands, and fall between a US XL and 2XL.
Universal Standard Sale Items
Here are a few of the items that are featured on the spinner for this sale:
Misa Dress in Red: I'm not usually a buyer of multiples – that is, the same style in multiple colors – but the Misa dress is an exception. This red is my 4th color of this dress currently in my closet. Friends of all sizes have purchased this dress and feel the same way: it's super comfortable, so easy to wear, and flattering. And don't forget: POCKETS! I've worn it with heels and statement jewelry, and also here with sneakers.
Liquid Jersey Elbe Shirt in Navy: This is my first liquid jersey item from US and now I get the hype behind the super fluid fabric. It's light but not flimsy, has great drape, and is really soft.
Stephanie Wide Leg Stripe Pants in Black Stripe: I actually already own these pants, and this pair arrived as a gift. I was happy to see them! These elastic-waist pants feel like heavier weight sweatpant with the look of a nice, tailored wide leg trouser. The ones I already owned are an XL, and they sent these in the 2XL. Both work! For extra drape in the leg, the 2XL are nice. For a slimmer fit in the hip and on the waist, I'll go for the XL.
A few other favorite items I already own that I spotted on the spinner:
Next to Naked Bodyshort in Black: I start by saying that I'm NOT a fan of a jumpsuit. This bodyshort made me a complete convert… for the right piece. It is stretchy but still thick and has some hold, but not compression. I wear it around the house with a long cardigan, or when riding my Peloton bike. If you're skeptical, I get it. It's an item you need to try to understand. But it's good. They also have a full length suit that I want to grab. My friend Alison has a full review of that on her blog. My sizing advice: If you're between sizes, size down. I know that sounds counterintuitive for a tight fitting garment, but I wouldn't steer you wrong.
Misa Jersey Dress in black: Like the original Misa I shared above, but in a lighter weight jersey tee material with short sleeves. I bought this last year in green and wore the heck out of it.
V Rex in Eggplant: US first became known for their high quality, well fitting t-shirts. They have a V neck version called the V Rex, which is also a staple in my wardrobe. I prefer to wear the 2XL in their tees because I like extra length. If you prefer crew neck, the Tee Rex in Black is also in the spinner sale.
There are many more styles included in the Spin for Styles sale, but I wanted to show you some of the items that I've tried. Press your luck and see what you can find.
