Tomorrow (Monday) would have been my mom's 54th birthday. I posted last year about what would have been her 53rd birthday. Like that day, I'm choosing to celebrate the good years of her life rather than those riddled by young onset Parkinson's Disease.
If you're in Lexington, you've probably already heard from me regarding the Business Lexington Trivia Bowl to benefit Parkinson's Disease Research. If you haven't yet heard about it, then click here to read all about it. I really want to recruit as many people as possible to participate in this event. If you want to read about how Parkinson's Disease affected my mom, you can also read that story at the link I just posted.
Anyway, I'm going to focus on some good memories of my mom instead of dwelling in sadness:
- She cooked a mean Thanksgiving dinner
- She decorated pretty Christmas trees
- She would sing silly songs in the car to make us laugh
- She always let me have sleepovers
- Everyone thought she had the prettiest, widest smile- and she did.
So today, I'm happy that I had her for the time I did, even if it was too short.
This upcoming week will be busy. Need to get ready for my cruise – leaving on Friday! Plus a lot of stuff going on at work. Hope everyone has a great start to their week. If anyone has any last minute cruise advice, let me know!
