I had a survey a month or two ago that asked some questions about what you think of this blog. I can't say it enough, or more genuinely- those of you who follow me on this journey? It's humbling, incredible and I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes in my journey. You just might be my secret sauce.
Anyway, when I was going through the responses, a couple of people actually said they LIKED my ramblings. I also had a couple people tell me they wanted to see more pictures of me, so blame them for this mish-mosh of a post, mkay? 🙂
This morning, I felt pretty when I left to go to work. I took a picture and put it over on my Facebook page. Are you on Facebook? Do you “like” my page there? If not, please consider it. I'd offer you a cookie as a bribe, but they have carbs in them.
The outfit (click to enlarge picture) is made of:
- Cropped cardigan, Old Navy
- Tank (it's plum, not black as it kind of looks in the picture) from Target- old, not sold anymore, but this one is similar
- Pants, Lane Bryant Lafayette pant. These are super old too, but they hold up great.
- Shoes, peep toe flats from Old Navy
- Necklace, old from Old Navy. Similar to this, but in black.
- Big silver and turquoise enamel ring, from the cruise ship
Like I said, totally random post.
But I have a serious question for you, my dear friends. And I mean “dear” in the absolute most sincere way. I *megaheart* blogging. I've done this a little over a year now, and I couldn't imagine this journey without it. I have tons to say and am only limited by the time I have to write it all down.
There is a conference coming up next May called Fitbloggin. For those who don't know, Fitbloggin is a conference for fitness bloggers (as you probably inferred from the name). I really, really want to go. I'll learn from other top fitness/weight loss bloggers about how to make the blog better.
Here's the rub: it will take about $1000 for me to get there and back. Because blogging isn't my job (as it is for some bloggers who make money on their blogs- great for them!) it's hard for me to throw down the money to do it.
There are a few ways I could make this happen. I could a) get a corporate sponsor(s) b) ask for donations c) start holding a weekly car wash.
I've talked to a few people about this, and I finally decided just to lay it out here. I think you read this because it's personal and real and all that. I will never change that. I don't want people to think that if I get more sponsors that I'm “selling out” in any way. I would NEVER endorse a product I didn't use and love. No amount of money could make me do that. Believe me, I get requests for advertising the craziest diet pills and it will NEVER happen.
So I have 2 quick questions- if you could just click your answers below, I'd appreciate it. Totally anonymous. If you want to explain, feel free to email me or leave a comment below. The last thing I want to do is turn off those of you who are my support.
First: Do you have a preference of how I try to earn this money for Fitbloggin?
Second: If I try to get the money to do this from sponsors, I might need your encouragement. This would be inviting people to read the blog, tweeting support to my corporate targets, liking me on Facebook, etc. Would you be willing to do that?
Third: Are you a company who might want to sponsor me? AWESOME! Email me.
Thanks, friends!
