I can't believe it. The RunTheBluegrass half marathon is next Sunday. Yikes!
This morning, Holli and I met up to tackle 8 miles. She and I were both dragging due to late nights watching UK make it to the Elite 8. We set off, and thankfully she and I were both of the opinion that speed wasn't the concern today. We just wanted to get through the distance.
I was pleasantly surprised to see we kept a sub-19 minute per mile pace considering it really went by quickly (in my mind) and I felt we were going really slowly (more along the lines of 20 minute/miles. It was about 20 degrees colder than last week, and WINDY!
My feet are really giving me hell tonight. I think they would be much better had I not worn those stupid high wedges for 2 days while traveling. They did a deal on my arches. This week I'm going to spend as much time as possible in my shoes with my orthotic insoles so make sure this pain goes away. I know that the adrenaline of race day will probably help me out as well, so fingers crossed.
Any advice on how to best prepare throughout this week for the adventure next Sunday?
