This morning, we take a break from me rambling about my weight loss, exercise and half-marathon training efforts to bring you something completely fun: fashion. Having gone from a US size 32/34 to 22/24 means I'm in the market for clothes, and these in particular made me very excited!
As you may know, I like plus size clothes. I post many of my outfits on my Facebook page as well as here. My complaints about plus size clothes usually have to stem around uniqueness or individuality. Sometimes, things can feel a little cookie-cutter. So when I heart in January that H&M was going to launch a one-time plus size collection called “Inclusive” (love it!), I knew I had to get my hands on it.
Unfortunately, it would only be sold online and in the UK and a few other countries, but not the US. I tweeted H&M earlier this week asking when Inclusive would be launched (the original date given was “early March), and they replied that it would be out Thursday. I quickly hatched a plan with a lovely, lovely friend from the UK to get the clothes I order to her house, for her to then ship to me. How awesome is she that she would go through that all? Throughout last night, I felt like a junkie about to get a fix! I figured out the time difference between here and there, saw that new collections usually launch at 8 CET (3am EST). I did my research about my US versus European versus UK sizes.
The collection launched earlier than expected- around midnight EST, and of course I jumped on it! With my birthday and Keeneland (horse racing) coming up, I hope some of these looks will make it to the celebration. The H&M Inspired collection can be found here.
These are the looks that I bought. Hopefully they fit, and look okay on me. If not, I'm sure I can find them a good home. I hope that this collection will be successful so that H&M can be persuaded to continue coming out with great extended-size lines like this.
