Lucky Brand has unveiled a line of plus size premium denim and some tops under the collection name “Ginger.” The denim is available now, and comes in straight, skinny, and boot cuts. Lucky is the latest premium denim label to enter the plus size market, following brands such as Seven7, Jag Jeans, Not Your Daughters Jeans (NYDJ), and James Jeans.
From the press release:
Nico Peyrache, VP of Denim Design at Lucky Brand said, “We are proud to introduce the best of Lucky Brand to the plus size denim market with the launch of Ginger. This collection is very much in keeping with Lucky Brand’s pursuit of encouraging our customers to celebrate their shape.”
Ginger is a mid-rise top-block jean that is offered in three leg openings – skinny, straight and boot cut. The jean features a contoured waist to fit one’s curves and is created with super stretch fabric with great recovery to maintain shape. To compliment the Ginger, Lucky has also created a complete head-to-toe plus size fashion collection comprised of product taken from the brand’s favorite and most iconic styles from the core brand offering with fit adjustments for a more flattering silhouette.
Dave DeMattei, CEO of Lucky Brand said, “We are particularly excited for the launch of this collection as we recognized a void in the plus size marketplace for an accessible, premium, denim. Our goal is to be inclusive of all body types when creating clothing.”
The fall collection is priced at $99-$129 for denim, $49.50-$79.50 for knits/tees, $79.50-$99 for wovens, and $99-$119 for sweaters. The collection will initially launch across 118 doors, comprised of major retailers including Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com, Macy’s and Macys.com, Von Maur, Lord & Taylor and Belk. For Holiday 2012, the collection will expand to specialty stores and LuckyBrand.com.
