As I complained last week, the weather has just been gross. Yesterday was the only decent window I had to grab some photos in outfits I'd been accumulating. Part of me though wanted to just say forget it and not take any outfit photos anytime soon. My self image has been pretty awful of late, only focusing on negatives: the jiggle of my stomach, thighs touching, general lethargy (which I translate into laziness instead of SAD or being sick). I just KNEW that when I got the photos back from my friend/photographer Emily, I would feel even worse about myself.
When I opened the photos up this morning, I just cried. You know that kind of cry that is like your eyes fill instantly and just start overflowing with big drops of liquid? Yeah.
Instead of crying because I hated how I looked, I was so happy. I thought I looked pretty in the photos, and not like the giant slob I've felt like recently. Took me a good 30 minutes to stop crying. Talk about an emotional release!

It was a great reminder that negative self-talk never produces positive results. [Tweet this] I'm so thankful for the perspective.
