This past weekend, my friend Elizabeth and I went to “Step Into Beautiful,” an event put on by Step by Step Lexington. Step by Step is an organization where young single mothers ages 14 to 24 find the encouragement they need to accomplish their dreams. It's a tea and fashion show, along with celebration of some of the moms who graduated from the program and gone on to do incredible things. It's the organization's key annual fundraiser.
Step by Step had reached out to see if I had ideas for dresses for the moms. A local boutique, Bella Rose, outfitted the models that circulated through the space, but they are straight sizes and as gorgeous as their clothes are, I totally empathized with not being able to wear things from there.
I reached out to one of my favorite places to buy dresses that make me feel amazing, and they enthusiastically provided 5 beautiful dresses for the moms whose stories were highlighted. Thank you so much to IGIGI for providing the dresses – the women looked beautiful!

I'd also like to give a big shout out to SWAK Designs who provided some of my favorite camisoles, the SWAK Perfect Camisole, for the moms to wear under the dresses if desired.
To match the moms gorgeous IGIGI dresses, I wore my “girl on fire” dress (also known as the Chelsea Dress in Fuego by IGIGI.)
I ran into Lexington style blogger Whitley, who was modeling one of Bella Rose's beautiful dresses
This photo album on Facebook has many more gorgeous shots from the event. And if by chance you ever need inspiration to decorate a table – the photos will give you some great ideas. Such great themes: Candyland, Easter, Mad Hatter, Spring, Lemons/Lemonade, and more. I know I took some notes!
This one was on the simpler side, and rustic but still elegant:
And I'm always a fan of blue china:

I know that sometimes fashion seems like a frivolous thing, but I think it's so much more than that. It's a way for inner beauty to come out, can be a source of confidence, and is important for expressing your personality. Thanks for a great event, Step by Step, and thanks again to SWAK for the camisoles and IGIGI for the beautiful dresses!
