I'm never been super into animal prints. Perhaps it stems from the bogus fashion rules that say you shouldn't wear allover prints, but I'm so glad I got over that. You all know how much I love a good maxi dress, and when I saw this leopard print maxi from IGIGI's latest collection, I figured it couldn't hurt to try.
When I first put it on, I wasn't quite sure. It was comfortable – there's stretch, it's lightweight, and has a generous cut – but I hadn't ever been in head-to-toe animal print. Inspired by fall, I added some new boots, some red lipstick, and layered with a faux leather jacket. Then I saw these photos – this is hands down one of my favorite outfits of late!
Elissa Maxi Dress in Mocha Leopard c/o IGIGI, wearing 22/24
Mossimo Faux Leather Jacket – super old, try these (1) great (2) options (3)
Munro Robyn Boot (up to 14WW!) – worth every penny, so comfortable
IGIGI Cuff, similar
Lane Bryant necklace – super old, similar
Earrings – don't even remember brand – old! – similar
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso
Bucket bag c/o French Connection – no longer available, similar
With or without the jacket, this dress just makes me feel damn good. And I think I need to start wearing red lipstick more often. I'm bad at wearing lipstick in general. Just goes to show you that going out of your comfort zone can pay off with a huge boost of confidence!
Animal print: yay or nay?
