Say what?!? I'm wearing PLEATS and a VEST and it's AWESOME!
I received two packages at my door recently – 1 from Gwynnie Bee (my poor postal workers – I know they must hate me always making them come to my door for a Gwynnie Bee drop off OR pick up) and 1 from Eloquii. I love Eloquii, but I hadn't ordered anything from them recently as life in turmoil meant shopping was not on the top of my mind. Plus, I'm on the cusp of their sizing, so their bodycon items and sheath styles don't work on my stomach or hips.
Vest: Karen Kane Contrast Moto Vest c/o Gwynnie Bee (Karen Kane 25% OFF SALE + Black Friday WEEKEND SPECIALS at KarenKane.com. Use code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout.)
Skirt: Eloquii (don't forget: Black Friday Blitz! 50% off sitewide + daily bonus offers with code BLITZ – 11/26-11/30)
Booties: Munro American via Nordstrom
Clutch c/o French Connection (no longer available – similar)
Tee: City Chic
When I saw the color of this skirt, I went bananas. It's my favorite color on the planet, but I can't ever find many clothes in this hue. The pleats reminded me of skirts my mom used to wear… and not in a bad way. Despite my reservations over the potential for pleats to add extra focus in my hips where I'm most self conscious, I took a shot and ordered this skirt. It's SO GOOD!
But when I got it, I wasn't sure how to wear it. I didn't want to do yet ANOTHER t-shirt and skirt combo, plus it's cold out. Enter the Karen Kane Contrast Moto vest from Gwynnie Bee, over a City Chic basic black tee.

I loved the contrast of colors, textures, and cuts. I still felt 100% ME in it, but just with a little more thought behind the outfit. This one was a winner for sure.
