As I've previously established numerous times on my blog, I am a huge Melissa McCarthy fan. We've been outfit twinning since 2014. Her Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line has completely changed up my wardrobe as I can now find tops that are oversized, flowy, feminine, and flattering;* amazing premium denim, and fun kimonos like this one. Oh, and let's not forget my favorite printed pants.
(flattering* = I know that's a loaded word. Basically, they make me feel pretty and like my shape is showing how I like it to be shown. Not all clothes you wear have to be “flattering.” Wear whatever the hell you want!)
This is an item that is pretty far away from my typical classic wrap dress aesthetic, and that's probably why I love it so much. It could be worn with denim and flats, or with my trusty Karen Kane dress, which I just dedicated an entire post to – how to style it 4 ways! So here is way 5: Add the fringe.
Fringe Kimono in Winter Sky c/o Melissa McCarthy Seven7
Karen Kane Dress (see 4 more ways to wear it here)
Necklace Set, Baublebar (sold out, similar)
Shoes c/o Debshops
Bag c/o Maurices (old)
Can we also talk about these shoes from Debshops for a second? I am really surprised at how comfortable they are. I have large, wide feet and it's pretty rare that I find a shoe that fits well, is cute, and is comfortable. Also? They're under $30! Bananas.
Whenever I hear Melissa McCarthy talk about her clothes, she likes to point out the details in the back. She thinks every garment should look good both coming and going. I think the sheer lace panels certainly pack a punch as you walk away.
She has lots of great kimonos in different prints, and her fall items are rolling out now!
