You all. This morning I about lost my sh*t when I saw this:
Good morning, Twitter! Is this thing on? #hashtag
— Melissa McCarthy (@melissamccarthy) January 13, 2015
Now let me say this: I'm not a celebrity-obsessed person. I've met several famous people and haven't done the whole fangirl thing. People are people. Straight up.
But I think Melissa McCarthy is my spirit animal. I joke on my Facebook page about how she's my imaginary BFF. Not only is she a hilarious comedian, she is so great at improv and also dramatic acting. She's a writer and producer. She's working on her own clothing line. A true creator, artist, and business woman. Mad props.
Over the last year, she and I have been inadvertent twinsies on multiple occasions:
ASOS Curve dress (mine was from my Gwynnie Bee subscription). Admittedly, her shoes are way more awesome than my pre-surgery boot!
ABS by Allen Schwartz dress, which I also got from my Gwynnie Bee subscription. My original post here.
In the ELOQUII floral scuba dress
Over the holidays, I escaped from thinking about my divorce by watching Tammy at least 6 times. So funny and endearing. (Plus, Mark Duplass.)
On the extremely, extremely rare chance Melissa or any of her people see this, here's my quick note to them. (Because why the hell not try?!)
Hi Melissa and/or team: I'm Emily and I would love the opportunity to work with you. Huge admirer of your work on and off-screen. I'm a social media strategist, plus size fashion and fitness blogger, and published writer with a background in product management and a MBA in marketing. I'm passionate about fashion (and as you can see here, our tastes are eerily similar) and digital marketing. If you need someone to help with social media efforts for your new clothing line, any upcoming projects, or personally (so happy you joined Twitter!), I'm your gal. References and examples of work available upon request. Thanks for the great work that you do! Contact info can be found here.
Want to help me reach out to her?

PS: Here's a trailer for her upcoming movie, Spy. It's directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), so you know it will be awesome.
