I get comments a lot about how I'm always dressed up. First, that's not entirely accurate – today I wore jeans and a navy henley shirt because it was a gross day outside and I didn't have anywhere in particular to be. Second, dressing up for me is a source of confidence. When I feel that I look better, I sit up straighter and feel more confident. Even though I work from home, one of my rules is that I have to be fully dressed and accessorized every day. When I dress more casually, I don't feel like I'm “on.” Instead, I'm bumming around my house instead of getting my work done in my office. Everyone is different, but this is my personal experience. If I'm having a particularly hard time focusing while working, I put on shoes. I don't prefer to wear shoes in the house, but they take the “professional outfit” theory to another level. Weird, but it works for me!

This dress is an eShakti dress that I got from my Gwynnie Bee subscription. I was struck with the colorblocking in these neutral shades, along with the vertical lines it creates. If you're not familiar with eShakti, they're a company that has a TON of styles in sizes 0-36W. But what sets them apart is they also offer custom measurements on all their items. You can even change the sleeves, neckline, and hems of their styles. It's really interesting, and you can check them out here.
This dress is another of the many reasons that I love GB. I last ordered from eShakti a few years ago, and wasn't thrilled with the styles. They fit well, but the items I selected didn't have stretch, and I just feel a little confined without a little bit of stretch. Now, this was a self-inflicted problem as eShakti is very thorough in their fabric descriptions. When I saw some styles from eShakti at GB, I threw some in my virtual closet to try.
After trying on this dress and wearing it, I promptly started browsing the eShakti site for more – I can't believe the selection and I'm excited to try them again after I had initially shied away.
Also, this outfit is a perfect example of a professional looking style that has the comfort of pajamas 😂 It could easily be layered with a cardigan or blazer, or you could throw on a denim jacket and some Keds to make it casual. I might end up buying this for keeps from my subscription. It's no longer available on the eShakti site, that I can find.
Quick reminder: Gwynnie Bee now has sizes 0-32W! If you're interested in a 30 day free trial, you can get the details and see more of how Gwynnie Bee works on this page.
