Last week I shared one of the super comfy outfits I've worn while staying healthy at home – if you missed it, you can check it out here. Today, I'm bringing you another one, featuring one of the most underrated clothing items ever: caftans!
Caftans are seriously the most comfortable piece of clothing. They're a mix of tropical vacation fit and feel that is still appropriate anywhere: lounging at home, going to a summer party, or running errands. I'm still socially distancing, so these photos were snapped at home but I wouldn't hesitate to run around in this all summer.
The multiple hues of blues in this Palm Bay Caftan from Catherines are gorgeous. I love the colorblocking at the neckline and down the center and the mixed prints at the sleeves, sides, and hem. It's a vibrant and happy style, and let's face it- anything to assist in cheering things up these days is welcome!
As far as fit, the caftan comes in sizes 0-2X and 3X-5X. I'm generally a Catherines 3X, so I'm wearing the 3X-5X. There's lots of room, and it is lightweight and breezy. Perfect for the 85 degree weather we're having today. We seem to have skipped spring here in Kentucky.
(Also, sidenote that the sign and stuff on the window by my front door is telling delivery drivers to take a homemade mask if they need one. It's been really surprising how many have taken them!)
I'd love the opportunity to sit on a beach in this caftan and hang with friends, but until that day comes, I'll be on the patio with a book and perhaps some wine or bourbon!
I hope that you all are doing well right now. Kentucky started to open up at the end of last week, but I'm still staying home for a bit and always wearing a mask when out – I hope you will consider doing the same for the safety of those around you. I'm sewing some up in a few colors, because who doesn't love a color-coordinated moment?!
