Happy Monday!
If you've been here any length of time, you'll know that I prefer dresses over nearly anything else. That being said, I do love the look of a great jacket over a tee. Pulling this off in summer is usually a challenge because of the heat, but I loved this light seersucker style from Lane Bryant and wanted to give it a spin. Everything in this outfit, with the exception of the handbag, is from Lane Bryant.
Textured Stripe Drawstring Peplum Jacket
Ruched-Shoulder Cap Sleeve Tee
Triple Starburst Drop Earrings
Double Strap Block Heel Sandal
Signature Fit Skinny Jean in Royal Crush Dark Wash with Flex Magic Waistband
I paired this super lightweight tee and jacket with denim for this look, but there is also a matching pair of crop pants if you want to go head-to-toe seersucker stripes.
The darting of the jacket, peplum hem, and stretch tie waist meant that comfort plus style went hand-in-hand. I don't feel super comfortable in a tee and jeans, but adding a jacket like this is an easy way to add the polish that I prefer. The fun starburst earrings are also from Lane Bryant.
You could style this with any type of shoe, from a flat canvas sneaker to an espadrille wedge. I went with a simple blush colored two strap sandal that had a wedge heel. As someone with very wide and large feet, I didn't expect these to fit and be comfortable, yet they were! I did size up 1 size on the shoes as I do with most sandals.
As far as other fit notes, The jacket and tee are true to size – I'm wearing the 26/28 in both. I was thankful the tee had a longer length than a lot of tees I encounter, which gave me some coverage on my super long torso and down onto the hips. I shared these jeans last year – wearing the size 28.
Here's to a great week!
