My purchases recently have been very reflective of life in 2020 😂 The clothes I've bought all seem to have comfort in mind, I've spent quite a bit on home items as I try to spruce up my surroundings, and more on exercise equipment. I thought I'd share some of my favorite purchases recently.
Wearables
Oh-so-soft sweatshirt: This sweatshirt feels like butter, is super comfortable, comes in multiple colors, and washes well. I wore it twice this week, and to be honest, will probably reach for it again tomorrow.
Sweatshirt, up to a 4X
Comfy undies: I usually buy Cacique underwear, but saw these seamless boyshorts and thought they looked really comfortable. Since I have a larger lower stomach, I'm always on the hunt for something with good coverage. These were a winner. I'd suggest double checking your size. I usually wear a 4X at Target, but find the 3X in these fit better. Also, they're usually only $18 for 3 pairs!
Hanes bralette: As the year has progressed, the desire to wear an underwire bra when at home has decreased dramatically. Enter this seamless bralette. At $10, it can't be beat! For reference, I'm around a 44G and wear the 3X. I wash in the machine and then let it air dry. It looks tiny when you get it, but believe me that it stretches!
Home
Christmas decor: You all know I love my Christmas decorations. I broke down and made my first Christmas decoration purchase of 2020. The toilet paper and mask put me over the edge!
Basement decor: It's still not quite finished, but we started to decorate our basement right before lockdown. There have been purchases of artwork, shelving, mirrors, a faux plant, pillows, throws, and 5 light fixtures.
Dining room: This was the last big room on my list that I needed to tackle, so I've been working on that for the past month. I have a reveal coming up here shortly! But the major purchases were chairs, a thrifted china cabinet, fabric, and a light fixture.
Even more light fixtures: I mentioned light fixtures in the last 2 items. It was a theme. I also replaced one of our entryway light fixtures. Maybe I'll do a post about where I find my fixtures on a budget. Let me know if there's any interest in that.
Mirror: I purchased a version of this mirror for our basement, and loved it so much that I wanted to put it in our half bathroom on the main floor. (The old mirror went to a different bathroom.) They have different sizes of similar round mirrors and I'm a big fan!
Self-Care
Peloton Bike+: Yep, this was a big one. I've talked before about how my movement routine has changed since I moved here, and Steve and I finally bit the bullet on this after several months of thinking about it. On Instagram Stories, you all have asked a lot of questions! I'll have some first impressions and answers to frequently asked questions up shortly.
Spoiler alert: We LOVE it.
Freshly: This isn't new-to-me during the pandemic, but I've been a very happy Freshly subscriber since December and I'm still thankful for it every week when it shows up and I don't have to worry about my lunches. One of my worst habits was getting up, drinking coffee, going straight to my computer, and then not surfacing until 3pm when I was hangry. I wanted a solution for tasty meals that I didn't have to think about on the weekdays so I could actually have a regular lunch schedule.
They're refrigerated, pre-cooked meals that you receive every week. Every single one of them is gluten free, which is important since I'm intolerant. Even gluten-loving Steve enjoys them. I am on the 4 meal plan, so I receive 4 meals each Tuesday morning, and eat them for lunch Tues-Fri. You get to choose your meals each week, and they update the menu pretty frequently.
