Have the desire to do a half marathon? What about a 5K? Join me for the RunTheBluegrass Half Marathon and 5K, 2 days before my dirty 30 birthday, Sunday April 3, 2011 at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park and Fasig-Tipton (amazeballs horse farm).
I am happy to announce I'm an Official RunTheBluegrass Blogger. What does this mean? I will be posting some training resources and other blogger stories of half marathons or 5K's leading up to the event.
Why am I promoting this?
- Because I'll be there and want as many friends as possible there!
- I want to do my part to encourage the overall health and fitness of Kentuckians plus those in the surrounding states. This means I want to help spread the word to as many people as possible. It's not about winning a race, it's about taking the steps towards improving yourself.
- This years event is being organized by local non-profit The LeXenomics Group and I have zero doubt it will be an amazing event. So, I'm playing cheerleader 🙂 Rah rah!
So does this mean I'm doing the half marathon? I don't know yet, but am seriously considering it (especially after watching awesome blogger Stephen talk about his upcoming half). I know for sure I'm going to do the 5K, trying to beat my previous time from the Southern Lights 5K which was also at the Kentucky Horse Park. I pushed myself this week with my 1 mile swim and with my fastest neighborhood walk/jog ever. A half marathon would be a major push, and one I want to make sure I'm fully ready for.
Today is the last day for early registration ($50) for the half, so register today!
