Today, I rolled out of bed super early to head to The Color Run in Louisville. Billed as “The happiest 5K on the planet,” this untimed race is held at locations across the country. The premise? You do a 5K and at certain stations throughout the course, you get doused in color (dyed corn starch). 8,000 people participated in the Louisville event. The crowd was crazy, but it was super-organized.
Before
After!
This was the first “organized” race since my half-marathon injury, and I'm pretty disappointed at how much pain my ankle ended up in despite just walking the course. It's very angry with me and I've been icing it since I got home. Hopefully it will be much better tomorrow. I'll have to bust out some of my physical therapy exercises.
Despite my crap ankle, I had fun! Holli and Anne and I had a great brunch afterwards at my favorite spot in Louisville, Ramsi's Cafe on the World. Nom.
Surprisingly, most of the color came off quite easily after a scrub in the shower. The blue seems to be most resistant to removal, as there is now a tint resembling a massive bruise along the side of my body. My hair retained a little bit of the green, but I don't mind!
