As I posted over on Facebook today, I have a bad case of dumpy butt.
The ironic thing is that I just picked these up from alterations yesterday. When I dropped them off 2 weeks ago, all I noticed was that the legs were too long. Now? The waist is too big, the thighs are droopy, and don't get me started on the crotch.
I'm not complaining, really. I mean, hooray weight loss and body changes! Unfortunately though, I don't have an unlimited budget for clothes. This meant my evening was spent running out in desperation for pants that don't make me feel like MC Hammer, but also weren't too expensive.
I love ordering online. With an unlimited budget, I'd spend tonight filling virtual carts with Kiyonna, IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel, Macy's, Monif C., Anna Scholz, Lane Bryant, Old Navy and now that I'm a little smaller, even Nordstrom. Tonight though, I trudged out to somewhere I've never been- Kohls. Thankfully, I got 2 pairs of non-dumpy-butt work trousers that will hopefully tide me over to circulate some of the current dumpiness out of my wardrobe. I also got a fabulous Dana Buchman tunic with sequins – who knew they sold Dana Buchman?!? I also hit up the Talbots Outlet store and got a lightweight ivory cardigan for $7 (!!!) and a white button down blouse for $19 (originally $90). I've never been a deal shopper, but I feel good knowing that I didn't break the bank on these basic pieces and can splurge on some other pieces from my favorite places down the line, including the perfect 30th birthday dress for April!
So, that's all I have for today. Worked out, worked, bargain hunted, ate, blogged.
On a more exciting note, we hit $500 raised so far for my half-marathon/Parkinson's Disease research fund– this is 20% of my $2,500 goal. And I still have over 6 weeks to go! Please help spread the word (and if you already have, just ignore these pleas through April 3rd 🙂
