Yesterday I turned 33. My birthday brings up some weird things for me sometimes. My mom passed away 2 days before my 26th birthday and it since then, it's always cast a dark cloud over the week. This past week though, I actually forgot the anniversary of my mom's passing. At first I felt guilty, but then I realized that it was probably a good thing that the grief didn't overtake my week. I can't believe it's been 7 years since she passed away.
Anyway, I had planned on being in St. Louis this weekend for Bloggy Boot Camp, but it was just bad timing so I stayed home. Made a last minute decision to head out to Keeneland for a little tailgate and horse racing. I love that my birthday always falls during the spring race meet!
My friend Lizzie is always so prepared! Our little tailgate was so nice. Though my small car trunk isn't ideal for a tailgate, ha.
It was a little cool out, but the sun was shining and it ended up being perfect. I won on all 3 of the races I bet on!

I hate crowds, so we left Keeneland after the 4th race and my friend Lizzie and I grabbed a late lunch. I then headed home and prepped for my husbands family to come over to watch UK play in the Final Four. A win from them was a sweet birthday gift!
And of course, I needed a birthday OOTD photo. I paired my blue Kiyonna dress (old, but this one is similar) with my Talbots striped coat, and wore my orthotic-friendly wedges. I think 33 is going to be a great year!
