I have recently added a new default dress to my closet, and I'm thrilled about it. A default dress, despite it's possible negative sound, is a wonderful thing. A default dress is one that you can put on without worrying if it looks good, or if it's appropriate. It can be dressed up, layered, left alone, and isn't too sexy, too stuffy, too casual, or too fancy. But you can also feel super confident in it. Basically, when you try on half your closet and wonder what the hell you're going to wear, you remember you have your default dress. And all is well with the world.

I'm working to have more “default” items in my wardrobe after just being fed up with feeling like I don't have enough closet space and never anything to wear. Unless it fits really well and makes me feel great, it's not staying in my closet. I'll sell some of the items over on my Poshmark, and the rest will go to one of my favorite local charities, Dress for Success.
This is pretty much how I feel on the inside when I wear the dress. Yee!!!
And so you can laugh at me: an outtake
