Happy New Year! I can't believe 2019 is already here. Actually, I can believe it because it feels like 2018 was a complete blur.
Steve and I rang in the new year at our friends house in Lexington, a tradition we always really enjoy.
Obviously, our wedding was the highlight of 2018, and was the culmination of many months of planning. So much fun, joy, overwhelming emotion, and feelings of “oh my God, I didn't know love like this existed – how lucky am I?!” (And yes, Steve is lucky too. Hahaha #humble)
It was also a crazy amount of stress (much of it self-induced, yay anxiety and ADD having a party in my brain all year) and I'm not even quite sure what to do now as things will undoubtedly be much calmer this year. Change and I aren't great friends, and my life has felt like one massive change sandwich after another the past 4 years. Divorce, breakdown, dating, long distance relationship, selling my home, moving to a new city, getting married. Now, heading into 2019 with no major life changes in the forecast, I feel optimistic for calm, and also for growth in other areas of my life that have been neglected as I hung on for the ride. I'm not 100% sure what things will look like, and I don't have a plan quite yet, but I am thankful for the headspace and time to figure it out.
I hope you had a great couple of first days in 2019. Here's to a fresh calendar!
PS: Not sponsored or anything, but I wanted to mention my friend Coach Colene's Vision 2019 Challenge. It's a completely free 7 day challenge starting on December 14th to help you get clear on what you want for this year and how you're going to get there. I start off every year with this, and it's always a really great experience with emails, activities, and support with Coach Colene and other challengers in a private Facebook group. You can get more details and sign up for the challenge here.
