We've hit the middle of April, which means Derby season is in full swing here in Louisville. Multiple events and parties daily, picking up steam as we get closer to the first Saturday in May. Things started off on a fashionable note at the Kentucky Derby Festival Spring Fashion Show presented by Macy's. I was very excited to see all the fashion, but more importantly, to see they included plus size models on the runway!

No scrambling for outfits this year: I have everything ready for events through the season, thanks to Macy's. They gifted the outfit in this post, had me as a guest at the Kentucky Derby Festival Spring Fashion Show presented by Macy's, and I'll be in-store at Macy's Oxmoor Center for an event on April 20th – details at the end of this post.

I have a total of 3 Derby-ready plus size looks I'm going to share in the coming days. When selecting the outfits, I went for variety ranging from sweet and romantic (this one) to neutral and modern. Pumped to share all of them with you.

Sizing notes for this dress: I'm wearing a size 22, where I'm normally a 24 or 26. This is a stretch scuba material and fits well. For reference, I'm 5'10.
Shopping for shoes in-store is usually a challenge for my 11 wide feet, but not at Macy's at Oxmoor Center. They had a very large selection of options in
As far as hats go, I generally stick to fascinators because I have a large head! But the stylist I worked with at Macy's (did you know they had stylists you can make an appointment with? I didn't!) pulled this blush hat to try and I was pleasantly surprised that it fit on my head. I liked that it's a traditional hat option paired with the traditional, feminine dress. Though I had zero
Sticking with the theme of traditional, feminine style, accessorized with a southern staple: a faux pearl bracelet. This one is really old and I can't even remember where I got it, but there's a similar one at Macy's here. The Kendra Scott pendant (old, similar here) and ELOQUII earrings completed the look.
