These are unprecedented times, and I understand and fully appreciate that fashion and style isn't on the top of most people's minds. I'm staying at home and practicing social distancing, but trying to keep everything “business as usual” as is possible right now. These photos were taken prior to social distancing recommendations and this partnership was put together long before we knew any of this was going to go down. I hope you enjoy this post, despite what's going on. I know personally that I could stand to see anything online other than COVID-19 news! Thank you for being here. Wishing you and yours all the best.

Indigo Lace A-line Dress c/o Catherines
Black Label Georgette Cascade Duster c/o Catherines
This is the second of three spring looks that I'm showing you from Catherines. If you missed the first one, you can find it here.
While we may be stuck inside for a bit (seriously, stay home, wash your hands, don't hoard toilet paper!) the style and ideas are hopefully helpful for when this passes.
As soon as I saw this blue and white lace dress, I knew I wanted to wear it. The pattern is reminiscent of the blue and white china patterns that I love, and it seems like a dress fit for a spring wedding or Easter.
Wearing the lace dress with short sleeves is a complete and easy, elegant outfit. The lining is soft and stretchy, and the unlined sleeves let the lace detail shine while providing coverage on the upper arms. Adding this fluttery light duster added a little more coverage for the fickle spring weather. It can be worn as a regular jacket or over the shoulders like a cape. I love a cape moment 😂
For this look, I chose to keep accessories neutral and minimal so the pattern of the lace would shine. Neutral pumps, a clutch, basic hoops, and a light necklace were easy additions.
Other styling ideas:
- Add a thin white or blue belt to the dress to give some more detail at the waist
- Pair the dress with a light denim jacket and a pair of springy espadrille sandals for a more casual look
- Instead of the white duster, layer the dress with a white or blue crew neck, button-down cardigan sweater
- Take the duster and dress it down by layering it over any color t-shirt and jeans
- Wear the duster on top of wide leg trousers and a sleek tank top or bodysuit for a chic layered look
Sizing: I'm wearing the 3X in both the dress and the duster. They are true to the standard Catherines sizes and are both very comfortable.
I hope that everyone is doing well under these circumstances! Best wishes and health to you and yours.
