These are unprecedented times, and I understand that fashion and style isn't on the top of most people's minds. These photos were taken prior to social distancing recommendations and this partnership was put together long before we knew any of this was going to go down. I hope you enjoy this post, despite what's going on. I know personally that I could stand to see anything online other than coronavirus news! Thank you for being here. Wishing you and yours all the best.

While on the hunt for anything fun and colorful for spring, my online shopping scroll was stopped by this teal and black palm print dress. It was the perfect look for a spring garden party, Derby events, or for an upcoming vacation to Florida. Alas, no garden parties or vacations in my future anymore, but I'm excited to have this dress for when we can emerge from this Coronoavirus mess victorious!
Palm Rush Twist-Knot Maxi Dress c/o Catherines
This is probably my favorite dress I've ever gotten from Catherines, and that's saying something because there have been a lot of great ones! The color is vibrant and saturated, the fabric is flowy and stretchy but still is cut in a way that is super flattering. I also love that the v-neck isn't cut too low for some occasions.
For styling this dress, I added simple black block heels (hello, comfort) and some floral earrings and a bracelet. It would look good with gold or silver jewelry, or you could go bold with bright pops of colors like hot pink or even chartreuse. I actually almost paired this dress with a yellow rattan clutch. You could easily wear this dress with a denim jacket or a cardigan if the fickle spring weather stays on the cool side.
As far as sizing, I'm wearing the Catherines 3X, which is what I usually wear in most of their items. It is true to that size chart, and super comfortable. Though comfort is always something I associate with Catherines items, so I'm not surprised!
I'm 5'10 if that gives you a reference for length. The great news on this dress is that Catherines also offers it in petites!
On a serious note: Friends, I hope that you're all taking all warnings seriously and staying at home as much as possible. Wash your hands, stay near home, distance yourself if you are out getting groceries. The more people interact with others (this includes having friends to your house), the longer this is going to last. The impact has already been devastating not only health-wise but economically as well. I want all of my favorite retailers, restaurants, and small businesses (including my own) to weather this storm. It will be a long time until we return to a new normal, so let's work together to get there sooner.
In the meantime, my plans are the same as they've been for the past 15 or so days: I'm staying in my house, reading books, watching Netflix, playing dress up in colorful clothes like this to help my mood, and going out only when absolutely necessary.
Stay safe 💜
