I wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement I've gotten for this weeks posts. Seriously- either through comments on the blog, in person, or through Facebook or Twitter, the support has been amazing. This whole weight loss journey is unpredictable. All I can do is continue to learn and try to do better. There is no time limit on progress: it can be made as slowly as it needs to be in order for it to stick. This time, it's going to stick, so I'll continue to push on and make whatever progress I can, no matter how seemingly small.
Right now, I'm treading water. When I was younger and a competitive swimmer, we had contests for treading water in the deep end. We basically would see how long we could tread water before our legs gave out. (No, no one drowned!) I always was amazed, because while I was never the fastest swimmer, I would always be one of the last ones in the water, just treading away with ease. Right now, I'm treading water. If I get a leg cramp or some other hangup (like an unexpected number on the scale), I don't quit. I don't drown. I simply pull the strength from somewhere else to keep me afloat until the cramp goes away. It keeps me above water, and will get me to the finish.
So, tread with me 🙂
