This morning I taped my feet and headed out to meet Holli (The Great Askini) and Lisa (a “regular” at the Saturday morning striders group) for half marathon training. My feet didn't quite hurt as bad as they did yesterday, but they still didn't feel right.
After about 1.5 miles, I decided I would stop when we reached the start of the trail again, where my car was. In addition to the pain in my foot, the tape created some GNARLY blisters on the bottoms of my feet. Awesome.
Despite the pain, I think our pace was good. Lisa and Holli went on to do 10 miles at a really good clip!
I need to remember that not everything goes according to plan, and that if I made it 10 miles, I can probably make it the full 13.1. I need to stop worrying about getting more and more miles in and get my feet straightened out. Appointment with the podiatrist is tomorrow late afternoon, so I'll keep you posted with what he says. If he tells me I need to lose weight, I may punch him. 😀
