I returned home earlier this week from my fifth Fitbloggin‘ conference! I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call the people in the Fitbloggin' community true friends. My friends from home usually give puzzled looks as I get wound up prior to the conference:
I get to see all my internet friends! But they're real friends! But I know them from online! But they're real!
Yeah, I'm real eloquent at times. *eyeroll*
To be honest, I feel like many in the Fitbloggin' community just “get” me in a way that is hard for others to understand. Blogging and throwing all your shit on the internet while struggling to find fitness or body confidence or some sort of self acceptance is just a weird bag. I've read many of these blogs for years, and have truly grown to love many in the community over the past 5 years.
I feel like the whole “find your tribe” saying is overdone these days, but I don't know of any other way to describe these people. Being around them is like I landed in a pool of unicorns, LOL.
This was the last Fitbloggin' headed up by Roni, who is very near and dear to me. She'll still be involved, but another company is taking over logistics and organization. I have no doubt next year will be equally as amazing as the previous 5 years as I'm on the advisory board along with other super-passionate Fitbloggin' veterans.
And now for a massive photo dump because the words are failing me at communicating how much I appreciate this community.
I had a flight experience from hell, but the view in was pretty.
Nothing better than seeing some of your favorite people in this world all in one place! Brandi, Alan, and Dre after dinner on the first night.
This beauty is probably the only reason I got on Snapchat. I can send Alyssa ridiculous snaps during the day and she will dish it right back.
Brandi and Dre – love, love, love them
All of us ENELL lovers were wearing the same bra, so of course we all had to show it off before Zumba. We attracted quite a crowd, ha!
My favorite class during Fitbloggin' – Zumba! I could only stay for 3 songs as I was giving a session immediately after, but it was so much fun. Photo via Carrie D Photography
I gave a workshop on personal branding and was so pleased with the turnout and participation. If you need the session materials, you can get them here.
The California Avocado Commission was a sponsor this year and they had a delicious (as in, top 5 meals of my life) lunch prepared by Chef Jen Jasinski at Euclid Hall
Seriously, Katy and I thoroughly enjoyed dessert!
Kelly and I should have been Lilly Pulitzer for Target twins, but I left my maxi at home. I love this girl and her zest for life.
Seriously the funniest – and creepiest – photobomb ever courtesy of Terry. Alan and I didn't stand a chance in this photo – ha!
When I say that Alan and Brandi are some of my favorite people in this world, it's not lip service.
A group of us ventured to Red Rocks after the conference ended. It was beautiful.
We only had about 40 minutes there as it was closing early to prepare for a Widespread Panic concert. Totally worth it though.
And total bonus, I got to meet New York Times Bestselling author Eleanor Brown and she took me to see Cirque du Soleil's Kurios! It was amazing, and she was amazing. Haven't read THE WEIRD SISTERS? Better fix that!

So thankful to be a part of this community!
