My Besties* Dress

*Actually, not really my bestie. Just my imaginary BFF. In a totally non-creepy way. Of course you know I'm talking about my favorite, Melissa McCarthy. (Who I've unintentionally twinned with before)

I highlighted this dress from the spring Melissa McCarthy Seven7 collection in a previous post, but I failed to mention I had just ordered it. As soon as it got here, I was IN.LOVE. If you've ever worn Rachel Pally, you'll find some similarities with this dress: the super soft, stretchy fabric, unfinished hems (so cut to length), and empire waist tie. It is incredibly comfortable, and the print is perfect.

Here are some fit notes: The Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line tends to run large, so depending on your size, you may want to size down on this. I'm wearing the 3X – the material is super stretchy, and the skirt is very full. Regarding the length – this is an unfinished hem dress because the material doesn't unravel, and you can cut to length. I'm 5'10, and when this came out of the box, I was stepping all over it. I trimmed about 6″ from the bottom. In these photos, it was raining and super windy, plus I was wearing 4″ shoes so the maxi looks a little short in the front. This isn't the case in person or when I'm wearing it with flats, which is what I am going to do moving forward. So even if you're 6'5″ you'll still have plenty of length in this dress. And if you're shorter, don't hesitate to chop it off.

Also regarding the sleeves: they are stretchy and easily scrunch up to 3/4 or elbow length if you want. And if you want to chop them permanently, they're also unfinished like the bottom so it's no problem. I see zero reason why I can't wear this dress well into the summer.
