You know how you get these numbers in your head as the next big milestone? For many people, it's getting below 200 pounds. For some, it's getting below 300. I know I was really glad when I got rid of 400… thankfully most people don't ever have to experience that. Looking back, I can't believe I didn't post about reaching that milestone. It was back before I revealed my actual weight, so I just kept it to myself.
Anyway, the milestone number in my head right now is 315. I know that it's random, but that is the weight I was throughout grad school (2006-2007). It's the point where I graduated and when I gained back up to 455. When I was 315, I felt good. I look back at photos and think that I looked great- although I'm MUCH healthier now as I didn't exercise then. I also got married when I was 315. All of this Royal Wedding coverage to makes me want to throw on my wedding dress, that unfortunately hasn't fit since the first day of the honeymoon (hello all-inclusive resort to a girl who hadn't eaten carbs in a year up to her wedding)!
This week, I had to go “shopping” in my closet. I found many things that were too big for me now (and they're all up for grabs at The Great Clothing Exchange if you want to look), but I also picked out a couple of things from my “315” days to try on. I was excited when I could fit in this shirt again, which I bought on a “315” shopping spree at Macy's in Buckhead while on a girls trip to Atlanta.
I've felt a little lost since I finished the half-marathon. Many said I should work towards another race or another goal. I finally realized yesterday when I got that shirt on (and the pants, which were never worn and are now 2 sizes too big), that 315 is my next quest. 315 will also mark 150 140 (I can't do math, apparently) pounds lost.
It's interesting how my 315 shirt is fitting even though I'm 345… I really think something is to be said about me exercising now versus then, and how it affects your size. Whatever it is, I'm grateful.
So here's my next great quest… 315. Cheers!
